I'm a graduate of English Language and Literature at the University of Wrocław, where I specialized in picturebooks. My master's thesis focused on the image of migrants and refugees in these works.
I'm interested in how picturebooks can bring people of different ethnic and age groups closer together.
A bilingual picturebook about accepting and loving the person who raises us as they are. It tells a story about a special relationship between a granny and her granddaughter.
The book is kindly supported by Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny and Donegal County Council.
This workshop uses a bilingual picturebook Granny Makes Me Grumpy, written and illustrated by Karolina Olchowska. Through the activities connected with Granny Makes Me Grumpy the workshop teaches about appreciation of the person who raises us as they are. The participants will listen to the author read the story in English, practice visual literacy, indulge in creativity by making portraits of their loved ones and take a grumpy group photo.
